Boyds, MD (August 22, 2018) – Washington Spirit midfielder Rose Lavelle and forward Mallory Pugh are featured on Jill Ellis’ U.S. Women’s National Team roster for a pair of international friendlies against Chile.

Ellis has named 23 players to the training camp roster for two late summer friendlies against Chile, taking place on Friday, Aug. 31, Presented by Volpi at StubHub Center in Carson, Calif. (8 p.m. PT on ESPN2) and on Tuesday, Sept. 4 at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, Calif. (7 p.m. PT on ESPN2 and UDN). Ellis and her staff will choose 18 players to suit up for each of the games.

These will be final matches before the USA enters the 2018 Concacaf Women’s Championship in October on a quest for a berth to the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.

Pugh has netted 11 goals through her first 35 caps with the senior team, and will make her return to U.S. camp after missing the Tournament of Nations due to injury. Lavelle will enter training camp with 11 international caps and three goals.

Lavelle recently earned her ninth, 10th and 11th caps during the Tournament of Nations, which the U.S. won. Lavelle’s 33rd minute equalizer in the final game against Brazil ignited a four-goal surge for the USA, as they went on to capture the tournament title with a 4-1 victory.
