Gothenburg, Sweden – Thursday June 08, 2017: Jessica Samuelsson, Mallory Pugh during an international friendly match between the women’s national teams of Sweden (SWE) and the United States (USA) at Gamla Ullevi Stadium.

Boyds, MD (June 8, 2017) – Washington Spirit forward Mallory Pugh earned the starting nod and played the full 90 minutes for the U.S. Women’s National Team in Thursday’s 1-0 win over Sweden. It was the 19-year-old’s 23rd career cap with the full U.S. squad.

One of Pugh’s fellow National Women’s Soccer League rookies, 2017 NWSL College Draft No. 1 pick Rose Lavelle, netted the only goal of the game in the 56th minute on an assist from Crystal Dunn.

Pugh and the U.S. National Team will play the second of their two-game set in Scandinavia on Sunday, June 11 against Norway. The nationally televised game will kickoff at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.
