Bonds, MD (July 28, 2017) – Washington Spirit forward Mallory Pugh played 57 minutes in a starting role for the U.S. Women’s National Team on Thursday night against Australia to open the Tournament of Nations, earning her 25th career international cap.

Australia won the game 1-0, as a 67th minute goal by Tameka Butt proved to be all the Socceroos needed to edge out the USA in the defensive battle, played in front of a crowd of 15,748 fans at CenturyLink Field in Seattle.

The U.S. will continue the Tournament of Nations on Sunday, July 30 against Brazil for a match-up in San Diego. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET and the match will be shown live on ESPN2.
