Boyds, MD (June 13, 2018) – Four Washington Spirit players – Francisca Ordega (Nigeria), Rebecca Quinn (Canada), Rose Lavelle (United States) and Yanara Aedo (Chile) – have completed play with their respective countries during the FIFA Window.

Lavelle came in as a substitute for Sam Mewis in the 65th minute during the U.S. Women’s National Team’s second game of a two-game set of friendlies against China on Tuesday, June 12. It was her first appearance with the USA since September 2017, marking her eighth career international cap. The USA swept the two-game set, with a 1-0 win on June 10 and a 2-1 win on Tuesday night in Cleveland.

Ordega drew a penalty kick that lead to the game winning goal during Nigeria’s second game against Gambia, helping the team to a 2-0-0 record. Nigeria’s two wins qualify them for the African Women’s Cup of Nations in November, which will serve as a qualifying event for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Quinn played the full 90 minutes in team Canada’s only game during the FIFA break. Canada came up just short against third-ranked Germany, falling 3-2 on Sunday. It was the 22-year-0ld’s 38th career international cap at the senior level.

Aedo scored a goal in the 83rd minute during Chile’s first game against Costa Rica. The Spirit attacker played in both of Chile’s games, helping the team to a 1-0-1 record during the FIFA Window, as Aedo and the Chilean team began preparation for the 2019 Women’s World Cup, for which they have already qualified.

These four players will return for the Spirit this Saturday June 16 when the club hosts Seattle Reign FC at the Maryland SoccerPlex. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET. [TICKETS]
