Teresa “Lupita” Worbis is one of two players from the Federation of Mexican Football who was allocated to the Spirit prior to the start of the inaugural National Women’s Soccer League season. She has a decade of experience with the Mexican Women’s National Team, last playing against the U.S. in June 2011, when the teams met just before the start of the 2011 Women’s World Cup, a match the U.S. won 1-0.

Before joining the team in May, she completed her undergraduate degree for architecture at the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education in Puebla, Mexico.
