Hayley Siegel has playing and coaching experience from her youth club, collegiate, U.S. Youth National Team and international careers. As a youth player, Siegel captained a local Bethesda (Md.) soccer club team, which was coached by Dave Nolan. The Bethesda Excel were 2003 National Finalist, and regional champions from 2003-05.Siegel garnered numerous athletic awards, including 2005 Maryland Gatorade Player of the Year, Parade Magazine All-American in 2003 and 2004, 2005 NSCAA/Adidas All-America selection. She was also a member of the U.S. National Team Pool at the U17, U16 and U15 levels, respectively.
Siegel went on to play at Santa Clara University. After successful freshman and sophomore seasons, she unfortunately suffered two anterior cruciate ligament injuries. She graduated from Santa Clara in 2009 with a major in communication. After recovering from her knee injuries, Siegel played in Germany, in the 2.Bundesliga for VFL Sindfelfingen and lived and learned from the European soccer world.
She came back to the DC area and began her coaching career at Georgetown University, first volunteering and then a full time assistant 2011-2013 learning the coaching game from the head coach and her mentor, Dave Nolan. In addition, she began coaching youth teams for Bethesda Soccer Club and found her passion within the youth development side of the game. This last year she took on a full time position with Bethesda Soccer club and stepped into a leadership role with the youth program as well as coaching the U16 ECNL team.
