Candace Marie Chapman… both of her parents were born in Port of Spain, TRI… she was six years old when her family moved from Port of Spain, TRI to Ajax, ON, CAN… she was seven years old when she started playing for Ajax United… grew up competing in soccer, track & field, soccer… earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology and computer applications from Notre Dame… as a youth player in 2002, was noted by the FIFA U-19 Women’s World Championship Technical Study Group (”applied pressure, good in possession, all rounder”)… once said of teammates Christine Sinclair and Marta, “I have to deal with two of the tough ones… my practices are sometimes harder than my games”… as part of the Canadian Soccer Association’s Centennial Celebration in 2012, was honored on the All-Time Canada XI women’s team…
