Sierra, 21, started her career as a striker in high school, moving to midfield her sophomore year and defense her junior year. She scored five goals her sophomore and junior years. She earned 18 assists throughout her high school career. Sierra was also part of the Mustang Spirit. During her time with the club team they were ranked 27th nationally by Soccer America in the 2009 Best Girls Clubs.
Sierra was also part of the Olympic Development Program and played in the 1991 and 1992 ODP Regional Championships, the 2008 U-17 Cal-North Championships and participated in Region IV ODP Camp from 2005 until 2008.
Sierra has been a member of the Mexican Women’s National team since 2009 in the U-20 division. In 2010 she played in the U-20 CONCACAF Championships in Guatemala, helping Mexico advance to the quarterfinals at the World Cup. She played 261 minutes. In 2012, Sierra as selected to represent Mexico at the CONCACAF Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Vancouver, B.C.
Throughout her college career at Auburn University (2010-2013), Sierra played in 85 matches, starting in 66. She scored five goals as a defender and assisted in seven, recording a total of 6,457 minutes of play time.
