W&T Transportation Services to pick up D.C. United Women all season

Named Official Transportation Provider of D.C. United Women

Germantown, Md.– D.C. United Women and W & T Travel Services (WTTS) have paired up for a one-year sponsorship agreement that will help get United Women where they need to be this season.

In exchange for the year-long partnership, WTTS is providing D.C. United Women with bus service for the team’s road trips, beginning with their longest of the season – a two-game set with the Dayton Dutch Lyons in Dayton, Ohio from Thursday, May 31 to Saturday, June 2.

“Helping out in the community and supporting local sports teams is a top priority for us,” said Darnell Lee, founder of WTTS. “Teaming up with D.C. United Women was an easy decision. We wish the team the best in their season, and WTTS looks forward to the exposure it will receive in being part of their winning team.”

W & T Travel Services was established in 2006 by Mr. Lee to honor the memory of his parents William and Teola. Mr. Lee started the company with only himself and three employees, and over the last six years has gradually built WTTS into a model for contemporary small businesses. By 2009, it had expanded to 68 employees and was honored with the Prince George’s Chamber of Commerce “Excellence in Business Award” for “Small Business of the Year.”

“We’re excited and very much looking forward to working with Mr. Lee and W & T Travel Services,” said D.C. United Women General Manager Chris Hummer. “Their story as a local start-up is inspiring and they’ve done a great job of expanding over the past several years. As a start-up ourselves for the most part, we’re lucky to have them as a part of our team.”

As a result of Mr. Lee’s and his staff’s hard work and dedication, WTTS has had tremendous success in the transportation field, earning contracts with government agencies including the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

D.C. United Women encourages fans with private, commercial, or government transportation needs to use WTTS; to support local business and receive quality transportation services along the way, as the team has witnessed first-hand.
