BOYDS, MD. (Mar. 7 2016)— The Washington Spirit announced today that the club has renewed its relationship with Arlington Soccer Association as a Youth Club Partner for the 2016 season.

The Spirit Youth Club Partnerships were formed to create a unique relationship between local clubs and the Spirit with the objective of providing valuable experiences and services to local youth soccer clubs, their staff, their parents, and their players.

“We’re very happy to have Justin Wilt and Arlington Soccer back with us again this season,” said Ashlee Comber, COO of the Washington Spirit. “They have certainly grown to be an extension of our Spirit family, and it wouldn’t be the same without them!”

Arlington is one of the largest clubs in the D.C. area with over 9,000 participants in its youth soccer programs every year. Founded in 1970, it is also among the oldest youth clubs in a region rich with soccer history at both the youth and professional levels.

This relationship provides players and families in ASA with a close connection with the region’s professional women’s club and its players, a clinic with Spirit players exclusive to Arlington Soccer Association participants, and discounted tickets for ASA families throughout the 2016 season.

“Arlington Soccer views its partnership with the Spirit as an essential part of the soccer education process for our players, particularly the female players,” said Justin Wilt, ASA’s Executive Director. “Having access to the Spirit connects our players in a tangible way to women’s pro soccer and generates more excitement about the sport and the community. In addition, the experience at the Maryland SoccerPlex is wonderful, and we look forward to a great season for the Spirit.”

The Spirit will kick off its fourth season on Saturday, April 16 against the Boston Breakers. On-field experiences for local youth teams are still available and can be booked by calling 301-337-8579 or emailing tickets@washingtonspirit.com.
