Richmond, VA – March 17, 2018: The North Carolina Courage defeated the Washington Spirit 3-0 during a preseason National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) match at City Stadium.

Boyds, MD (April 5, 2018) – Seven Washington Spirit players – midfielder Yanara Aedo (Chile), forward/midfielder Estefanía Banini (Argentina), forward Ashley Hatch (USA), forward Francisca Ordega (Nigeria), forward Mallory Pugh (USA), defender/midfielder Rebecca Quinn (Canada) and midfielder Andi Sullivan (USA) – have joined their respective national teams this week for international duty.

Aedo and the Chilean national team kicked off the Copa America group stage on Wednesday night against Paraguay. Aedo netted Chile’s only goal in the 1-1 draw. Chile will continue group play on Friday against Colombia at 6 p.m. ET. On Tuesday, April 10, Chile will go up against Uruguay, before concluding the group stage on Thursday, April 12 against Peru.

Banini and the Argentina national team will begin Copa America group play on Thursday against Brazil, with kickoff set for 6 p.m. ET. Argentina will go on to face Bolivia on April 7, Ecuador on April 9 and Venezuela on April 13 to close out the first round of the tournament.

Hatch, Pugh and Sullivan will play a two-game set of friendlies with the USA against Mexico, starting on Thursday night in Jacksonville, Fla. Thursday’s friendly will be televised on FOX Sports 1 starting at 7 p.m. ET. [+Preview] Following Thursday’s match-up in Florida, the USA will go up against Mexico again on April 8 at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, Texas (1:30 p.m. ET on FOX).

Ordega will compete with the Nigerian national team in a friendly against the French national team on Friday afternoon at MMArena in Le Mans, France.

Quinn and the Canadian national team are currently holding training camp ahead of a friendly against the French squad on Monday, April 9 at Roazhan Park in Rennes, France.
